How to make the most from your Café, Restaurant or Bar during the Christmas Season.
It's almost December!
Time to gear up, create a buzz and fill those seats in your cafe, restaurant or bar!
Here's our 6 Top Tips to help boost business during the Christmas period -
1. Get your fitout looking good.
Spring clean fridges, display cabinets, get rid of any superfluous furniture, tired signage, or worn menus.
Freshen up paintwork, make sure all light fittings are working, tidy up to enable good traffic flow, and make your fitout look inviting.
2. Decorate the fitout, but don't overdo the Christmas theme.
Subtlety and style should be the go.
Very often, few larger decorative pieces say much more than lots of smaller decorations which can clutter and detract from the ambience of the hospitality space.
3. Introduce Menu changes.
Create new summer salads, special seasonal desserts, a new cocktail. Even make up a set Christmas menu at a great price.
Carry through the Christmas theme and re-write the menu board or print a special run of paper menus.
Everything then looks fresh and new.
4. Upsell on the Menu.
Create offers to encourage customers to spend more.
For instance, a free Christmas dessert with any entrée and main, a glass of champagne or wine with any main and dessert.
Incentives are a great way of upselling.
5. If you have regular customers, then reward them.
A free bottle of wine to celebrate the season with every table for two or more in December could be a great reward.
Treat them as special valued "friends" of your business.
To cover costs, buying moderately priced wines in high volumes works well.
In most cases, customers are so impressed, they usually order more anyway.
6. Run a Christmas prize draw and add to your customer database at the same time.
Patrons can fill out a form to win a festive season prize. It might be dinner to a certain value, a Champagne, beer and wine hamper or coffee and cake for four.
As they leave their details, you can build a database of customers to send offers to in the New Year and create loyalty to your business.
It's all about thinking beyond the square, so make the most of Christmas!
